What to Expect

Have you recently hired American Made Painting? Here’s what you can expect during your upcoming paint job.

So, we’ve scheduled a date, you’ve picked your colors, and we’re ready to start your project – Here is a breakdown of what to expect from start to completion…

Arrival & Work Hours

On the day that we’ve scheduled to start your painting project, either Pete, Steve or both will arrive with the crew at 7:45 am. We have a team meeting outside to go over the specifics of the project so everyone knows their tasks and can get right to work. The trucks will be unloaded and the crew will be at your door at 8:00 am.

Our working hours are 8 am to 4 pm, with a break for lunch around 11:30 am.

Set-up & Commitment to Cleanliness

From the moment we step inside your home, we will be preparing the jobsite to ensure cleanliness. We will create a pathway using drop cloths leading to whichever areas of the house that we’ll be working in.

Once we’re in the room(s) that we’ll be working in, we will move all furniture to the center of the room and start the job site protection. All picture frames, mirrors, electrical switch plates, window treatments, and removable shelving will be taken down and stacked neatly. At this point all of your furniture and belongings will be wrapped in plastic to protect it from any dust or paint splatter. Drop cloths and rosin paper will then be laid to protect all flooring.

Now that the room(s) are ready for work, Pete or Steve will confirm with the homeowner which holes in the walls will be patched, in case there are some items that you want to put back up once the painting is completed. We will also discuss a minimally-invasive spot for us to leave equipment overnight if your project will take more than one day.

Project Completion

From that point, Pete, Steve and the crew will focus on getting your project completed. Generally we will give you a completion date before we start your project, so you can schedule your days as needed.

As rooms throughout the project are completed,  they will be cleaned and cleared of all equipment. Furniture and wall decor will be put back in its place. We strategically move from room to room, avoiding taking over the entire house, until the project is completed.

Our Commitment to You

Understanding that having a large crew inside your home can seem overwhelming at times, Pete, Steve and all crew members do everything we can to make the process as smooth as possible.  All crew members are long-term employees, and understand that making you feel comfortable during the process is a top priority. Not only do we strive for excellence in our finished products, but we strive to offer an enjoyable experience throughout the process.

Long Island House Painters American Made Painting treats you and your home with the care and respect it deserves.
